Weekly Photo Challenge: Glow

Red Brick
Red Brick | Bayreuth | 2016

Glow” is the theme of the WPC Weekly Photo Challenge this week. So let it glow! My title photo is from an old brewery in Bayreuth, Germany. There are not many surfaces that glow like red brick. The image was taken with my Olympus PEN-F with the mZuiko 17mm F/1.8. Image specs 1/640 sec @ f/f5,6 and ISO 200.

For a small collection of glowing street-, landscape- and travel-photos I invite you to look after the jump….

I made it safely to Chicago. Overnight I downloaded the new releases of Lightroom Classic CC, Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC 2018. During tonights 4.5h flight to Portland I will give to a try.

Have a good Thursday!

Marcus

  1. My favorites are last two pictures- sunset on the beach and the one with a bridge.

I don’t use any editing software like LR or PS. Happy with basic editing like cropping and contrast correction.
    May be some day!!

  2. Using On1 software allows you to add ‘glow’ in post. Can’t help but think it is cheating a little (and I am sure it can be done in LR/PS).

    1. Yes, you can certainly use Lightroom to increase saturation and add “punch”. Even if I would have done it, I wouldn’t consider it cheating. I work with RAW files that need to be “developed” as they luck any in camera treatment every jpg gets. But hey, the old masters also had all liberty to work with their analogue negative films. Photography is an expressive art, not a science. Have a great weekend! Marcus

    1. Thanks, Lynne, love your comment! I can send some real time Chicago sunshine as well. I’m afraid after landing in Portland later tonight it will be all rain throughout the weekend….Marcus

  3. As always gorgeous photos Marcus. Have just got my Lumix camera back today after having a new screen fitted as it had developed vertical lines on it obscuring the view! Thankfully it was still under warranty and only away a week, so I’m back in action now! Have a great weekend. Marion

  4. Du kommst vielleicht rum!!! Kein Wunder das Du eine solche Sammlung bieten kannst. Tolle Farben, tolle Szenen! Namibia und seine Bäume sind mein Favorit! HErrliche Aufnahme! Aber auch der ganze Rest, TOP!
