Happy Life

We’ve been living a happy life these past two weeks, as The Significant Other and I had managed to escape into the Austrian Mountains for a dearly needed break from our daily routine and Covid-19.

And, apart from the not so solid weather, life’s been truly good. Especially, as also Big Girl came to visit us for a few days. Staying in a friend’s house, that we had for ourselves, we managed to vacation pretty much for ourselves. Although Austria had opened its borders two weeks ago, there were only traces of tourism in the area. We hardly encountered people when hiking in the mountains and enjoying the treats of the high altitude huts managed by alpine dairyman or when visiting the restaurant in the valleys.

And there was, finally, plenty of opportunity again to take a camera into the hands. Once post-processed I’ll show you some impressions from our alpine vacation in Austria. On my travel Instagram feed (@travimago) I did already post some images from our ventures. All in all it was a worthy substitution of the trip to the Canadian Rockies that we had to cancel due to the Covid-19 travel ban to North America.

The photograph above of the lonesome alpine cow (obviously living a happy life) was taken during an early morning hike up the mountain with the Leica M and the Summicron 35mm. Image specs 1/180sec @ f/11 and ISO 200. Jpg out of camera. I love how the Leica plays with the light.

Wish you a great Thursday!

Marcus

  3. Glad you managed to get away. We had to reschedule out summer holiday to France and rebooked for beautiful Austria later in the year, then the company went into liquidation, so no hol this year. Look forward to seeing your Austrian photos.

    1. Thanks, Jill, appreciate your kind words. Too bad you are going through this hassel with your travel company. I hope you got your money back! Austria is beautiful and so much worth a holiday trip! All the best for you! Marcus

  4. That’s really good to hear, Marcus, I’m glad the vacation has worked out so well. I do love that cow! (If it makes you feel any better, I can’t go to Canada either, even though it hardly an hour away).

    1. Thanks for reading and commenting, Lynn. Glad you liked the cow. It was a great hike up the mountain early in the morning. We plan for Canada in the coming year. Stay safe! Marcus
