This blog is mainly about Street Photography, the photographs (the majority taken in my hometown Nuremberg (Nürnberg) in Germany – hence the blog name), my experiences and the gear I use.

This blog is intended as my photographic diary, to describe my journey into this genre, as Street Photography is a style that allows me to follow my passion just about everywhere I am or I travel too. It keeps me active and out in the fresh air (necessary after long office hours), it helps me clear my mind in an almost meditative way and it challenges my photographic creativity.

Creating Street Photography is creating art, there is no question about it. It is a free creative design in which the artist’s impressions, experiences and experiences are brought to life through the medium of a certain formal language, here photography. That the photo represents an unadulterated image of reality – as is customary in street photography – does not prevent this. For it is precisely the aim of street photography to depict reality unadulterated, whereby the specific artistic aspect is expressed in the conscious selection of the detail of reality and the design with photographic means. That Street Photography is an art form has just recently (February 2018) been recognized by the German Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht; Az.: 1 BvR 2112/15). All my images published on this blog are artistic creations of mine in that exact sense.

What also attracts me to this genre is that it goes hand in hand with my natural curiosity and interest in humans and their stories and the documentation of daily life as it happens. Street Photography also helps me hone my social skills by meeting all kinds of interesting people.

Hopefully my readers can take something from my experiences, practical things or some fresh motivation to try some new photographic ventures on their own. My series “Instant Inspiration” and “Street Photography Quick Tips” are specifically designed to empower interested readers to learn new photographic skills or give their photography a fresh angle.

Although not my mother tongue, I write this blog in English language because I feel I can reach a wider audience this way. I love being in touch with people from all over the world. And usually my fellow Germans are quite good in English so they at least can understand about what I blog. Commenting is very welcome in any language!
