Some times, the photographic opportunities fly to you. Literally. After all, this is the wild Pacific Northwest. And after three days stuck in a meeting room, with not so much of a chance to take the camera downtown Portland for some street shooting, I got my chance at a fun photoshoot with a family of Canada geese that passed the glass front of our meeting room.
We got a nice big pond on Campus that is extensively used by Canada geese for mating and breeding earlier in the year. It is an impressive sight from our office windows when 300 of these big birds take off and land in the water directly in front of the building. After mating season comes to an end, most of the geese leave, but a few families always remain to hatch and raise their young ones on our premises. And they happily wander all about the Campus and over the parking lots (with occasional, unfortunate loss of life).
And they do also walk by our meeting rooms, always interested to what happens inside (I do have the theory that some of those birds might be trained spies from competing companies).
Anyway, it was a fun start into my day, an easy opportunity to shoot some iPhone images and doing a post from it. After a short trip to the Rose City I will be heading home again tomorrow.
