As I have written many times on this blog, capturing gesture is what makes a street photograph. Like the wave of this boy standing next to a Coke machine in a village in Jordan. I was photographing him out of a moving bus – hence the slightly degraded image quality, because of me shooting at an angle through the bus window.
I was shooting in P-Mode with the ISO set to 1600. This, during daylight, gave me fast enough shutter speeds to shoot street scenes out of a moving bus, using my Oly OM-D E-M1X and the 12-100 F/4 Pro Zoom. The image is a 50% crop, RAW processed in Lightroom Classic.
The kiddo saw me taking a snap at him and waved back with a friendly smile.
Why he then stuck out his tongue at someone to the front of the bus just a second later will remain a secret. The stories of the street 🙂
