I haven’t posted in a while, but life has been quite busy lately, especially in the job that pays the bills. But photography (and this blog) is never forgotten. Last weekend, The Significant Other any I headed to Hamburg for a dearly needed 5 day getaway. Obviously I took plenty of images during those 5 days on the snowy banks of the Elbe River. What I’m sharing today are a couple of monochrome photographs, a mix of street and other images (I have no clue what to call the three non-street photos). See the other images after the jump…

The world will look to Hamburg these days, where the leaders of the world’s major nations will meet for their G20 summit. Reason enough for the Streets of Nuremberg to pay a visit to one of our nation’s most fascinating cities. A city crossed by a major river. A city with a rich maritime history, with one of Europe’s major harbors. A city full of old historic buildings, of mind-blowing  modern architecture, and plenty cross-over old made new in between. Congratulations Hamburg !

Honor to whom honor is due – the Streets of Nuremberg congratulate Hamburg to a splendid opening of their new iconic concert house Elbphilharmonie, one of the largest and acoustically most advanced concert halls in the world. I just finished watching the fabulous live broadcast of the opening ceremony and concert in the presence of German President Gauck, Chancellor Merkel and 2000 invited guests. The music inside was accompanied by a spectacular light-show on the outside.

Drinks before the Show | Hamburg | 2016

Today we went to see the Musical “The Lion King” in Hamburg. Visually it was an awesome show, probably the best I’ve ever seen, but I felt the singers couldn’t quite match it. Still a great evening.
