Waves meet Love

Waves Meet Love | Celle Ligure | 2026

In this image waves meet love. Hmmm….can you call this a street photograph when it was taken at the beach? The question came up the in the comments of my previous post. While the question is valid, the answer is simple. Street photography isn’t defined by where it’s taken, but by what it captures. It’s about observing real, unscripted human moments in public spaces. A beach, just like a sidewalk, a subway, or a park, is a public stage where life unfolds naturally. Or as Shakespeare says “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women, merely players” which is the motto of this blog.

Have a great and creative Sunday

Love was in the air

Wedding party standing in a heart photographed from the air
Love is in the air

Love was in the air, when our godchild married last weekend. And what an event it was for me, as I was the official wedding photographer, from shooting the formal portraits in the morning to documenting the emotions of the ceremony. From taking group shots to capturing the fun of the party. A whole day with a camera in my hand.

Love is in the air | Portland | 2019

This past Valentines Day I was in Portland, Oregon. And while shooting some Street Photography during the weekend spent in the Rose City, there was plenty of Valentines vibes in the air. Some decorations were more weird than others, true to the motto of the city. I originally intended to save those “love is in the air” street photos for a Valentines post next year, but they are also the perfect fit for today, which marks my 26th wedding anniversary.

Christmas Kiss | Nuremberg | 2018
Christmas Kiss | Nuremberg | 2018

We all know Christmas is not the most relaxing of holidays. Shopping frenzy, decorating competitions, preparing festive meals, Christmas parties everywhere, last minute travels. And all of this with a looming deadline…well, sort of. But you get my point.

Let us all remember that this is not about who gives the biggest gift, has the fanciest decoration or cooks a 5 course dinner.
