The last day of the year is upon us. Goodbye 2021! The Significant Other, Big Girl, two dear friends and myself spent the day hiking in the Austrian Alps in the Weißpriach Valley along the Lonka River. Enjoying a marvelous day. Walking along the mountain river has something cleansing to it. Washing 2021 away, looking forward to a brighter new year.Continue reading “Goodbye 2021”
Haven’t posted a portrait of Big Girl in a while. She doesn’t look like having worked 4 consecutive night shifts as pediatric nurse on the oncology ward of Nuremberg’s Children’s Hospital.
Image taken with my Leica M (Type 240) and the Summicron 50mm F/2. Jpg out of camera.
Have a great Thursday
Being on Christmas break doesn’t mean you need to overdo the relaxation part. Don’t be a couch potato. Grab your camera, venture out into the nature (garden, park, woods) behind your house and shoot some monochrome details. Go out and be creative! And feel good about it!Continue reading “Go out and be creative”
The other weekend, my Dad and I went to a Classic Car exhibition in the Nuremberg Trade Fair. Big Boy got us the tickets, and it was a great opportunity to escape the Covid dullness and do something special. Not that I’m too much into cars. But they are sure fun to photograph. Especially when they are Classic Cars. So I grabbed my Olympus OM-D E-M1X with the mZuiko 12-100 F/4 with the intention to shoot some details of the exhibited cars. Click the link below to see some resulting images.Continue reading “Classic Cars”
To everyone out there, but particularly to all the many magic people I’ve had the blessings to meet virtually during my six years blogging on the “Streets of Nuremberg”, I wish a peaceful and merry Christmas and much love and laughters together with your family and friends. And please stay safe!
Merry Christmas from the Streets of Nuremberg
It was this kind of season – summarized in one image. Instead of being the usual Christmas City ablaze with lights, Nuremberg went through another subdued Holiday season. No Christmas markets, most public events canceled. Mask mandate everywhere and long lines in front of shops to get the mandatory vaccine certificate checked out.
Add the mostly gruesome weather of the last weeks into the equation, then you know why my trips onto the Streets of Nuremberg were rather limited in this kind of season. Below some random street shots that I captured during last Saturdays trip into town together with The Significant Other.Continue reading “This kind of season”
Just a random shot that I took yesterday at a classic car exhibition at the Trade Fair Nuremberg. Colors match those of the festive season, that is not so festive here on the Streets of Nuremberg. For the second year in a row, all Christmas markets in Bavaria have been canceled. The car show was still on, but you had to be double vaccinated and additionally present a negative Covid test certificate less than 24h old. Plenty effort to go watch some vintage cars. But at least an opportunity to grab the cam and do some creative shooting.

Have a great Monday
