Goodbye 2021

The last day of the year is upon us. Goodbye 2021! The Significant Other, Big Girl, two dear friends and myself spent the day hiking in the Austrian Alps in the Weißpriach Valley along the Lonka River. Enjoying a marvelous day. Walking along the mountain river has something cleansing to it. Washing 2021 away, looking forward to a brighter new year.

I carried the Leica M (Type 240) with just two lenses, the Summicron 50mm F/2 and the Elmarit 28mm F/2.8. Took just a couple images of the beautiful mountain landscape and of Big Girl posing for me. Have I said I love the special Leica look? I’m blessed to own this vintage digital rangefinder plus a few M mount lenses.

Wish you all a peaceful last day of 2021, a joyful New Years Eve and a splendid start in a happy and healthy 2022. May it be a better year for all of us!

  1. Thank you for a year of beautiful photos, and interesting comments on the cameras that took them.

  2. I totally agree with you and the joy of photography with a Leica rangefinder. This year I traded in my Fujifilm GFX and lenses for a Leica M and Q2 Monochrom. Can’t decide which I love more, but it is a real pleasure just to shoot with them.

  3. What a marvelous way to end 2021. We’re so glad you guys could enjoy that time and place together. Blessings to you and yours, Marcus for a calm and safe 2022.

  4. Looking at these magnificent photographs I thought about Ansel Adams. How beautiful the landscapes can be in black and white, how impressive!
Marcus, I am wishing you and your loved ones a Happy New Year! May 2022 will be the best year ever, may it bring peace and joy and plenty of inspiration.
