“Uzbekistan explored – People of Khiva” is the first in a series of blogposts about our recent journey through beautiful Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan is an amazing place for street photography, the people super friendly and open to be photographed. Continue after the jump to see more street images from Khiva, our first destination in Uzbekistan.

Street Photography in Uzbekistan is full of magic. Already at our first stay in Khiva I got so many great shots and fully into the flow. I’ve never been to a country where people actually WANT to be photographed. Amazing.

I took most photographs with my Nikon Zf full frame mirrorless camera. Lenses were the Nikkor Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR (during the day) and the Nikkor 40mm f/2 for the night shots. I did some post processing in Lightroom Classic.

Stay tuned for more posts about our journey along the Silk Road in Uzbekistan.

Have a great Sunday

  1. Excellent photos, Marcus! They seem to be very friendly. I have the same Nikkor 200mm lens, a great lens!
