Visiting a 2.250 year old ancient Egyptian temple today, I took a couple of images of two local guardians posing in their traditional garments for the passing photographer. Wich one do you like best? Leave your preference in the comments below. For the other images continue after the jump….

While touring ancient Egypt for ten days, we visited an ancient Egyptian temple in the city of Edfu, located on the west bank of the Nile between Luxor and Aswan. The temple, built about 220 b.c. and dedicated to the falcon god Horus, is considered one of the best-preserved temples in the entire country. Light shafts were falling into the interior of the temple, illuminating the hieroglyphs on the wall as well as the guardians posing for the visiting photographer.
I’d really like to know which of the four black&white versions you prefer, so please comment below.
Taken with my Nikon Zf and the Nikkor Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR, image specs 1/500 sec @f/6.3 and ISO 6400, 45mm focal length.
Have a great Saturday

I prefer the firts one because there is a human connection with the two guardians. In the other shots they are more like objects you deliberately places to fill in the space. Also in the first capture their pose is much more pleasing.. Nevertheless I am a bit jealous of all four.
Love that first shot!! I like the light and texture on the walls in the latter shots but in terms of capturing the figures, that first one really made me think Wow as I first saw it. Everything came together beautifully!
All of the images are great Marcus but if I had to be picky and choose it would be Guardians 1 and 4 😊 The light is superb.
I like ke the second photo best.
Great light, but a little too alright in a couple of them. First and third do it for me.
The Light. Beautiful set.
Absolutely amazing shots! What a capture 👏🏼
I like photo two the best, Marcus, it is the most dramatic! All the photos are great though, imaging being able to go instantly back in time to see the people actually carving on the wall!
I tried to comment by using the email notification of posting. Didn’t work. (Probably user error.) i like #1 best, but they all are great shots. Love the shafts of sunlight.
They are all marvellous. I prefer the first because of the smile.
I’m going to vote for Image #1 … but they are all great shots, Marcus.
