“A Dress” is the task for Day 6 of Cassia’s 10 Day Photography Challenge. Now, this is not exactly a guy’s topic ;-), in a sense that I throw myself into a dress and take a selfie. Although I probably could, as we are approaching the culmination of carnival season here in Germany. But then again, I’m not a carnival guy. And the Significant Other is not big on dresses, so no chance for an impromptu high fashion photo shooting.
So what does a guy street photographer do? He looks for a storefront that features dresses, blends into the background and waits for magic things to happen. I took this photo with my Olympus O-MD E-M1 and the 14-150mm F/4-5.6 travel zoom. Image specs 1/200 sec @ f/5,6 and ISO 150, focal length was 90mm (180mm full frame equivalent).

Interesting capture, Marcus!
Thanks, Arv!
Interesting subject, and beautiful window. The dummy looks almost flapper-esque.
Thanks, Jill, highly appreciated! Marcus
Oh nice click whoever click this beautiful pic would be nice enough.
Well captured Marcus. I love how you’ve created the interaction with the viewer-woman photographer and the subject in the window. I would think the viewer would love to pose in one of those dresses.
Thanks, Tim, your feedback is so much appreciated! I only wonder if I should have placed her a bit to the side of the subject in the window. I’m not sure though. It was the creative decision of that moment, and a second later the viewer woman left and the opportunity was gone….
I think you had her in the right spot. It gave her a direct connection to the dresses.
Thanks ,Tim, your opinion means much to me! Marcus
Wow! That is some storefront. I don’t think I have seen anything like that in my life! Maybe I should get out more often?
Thanks 🙂 And yes, you should get out more often! And take your camera 🙂 ! Marcus
