I received quite a few requests to post something about Greek food. So here it is. What we ate in the past two weeks. “Greece explored – Foodporn” takes you on a culinary trip through the offerings of the “Tavernas”, the small greek restaurants . Enjoy – and (small disclaimer) don’t continue if you are hungry….
So here you have it, this is a sample of the dishes we tried over the last two weeks. Typically we share two or three (or sometimes four) starters, always have a Greek Village Salad and then each eat a main course. Add cold water and some greek wine. And after dinner a “Coffee Eliniko”, a strong greek Mocca.
The photographs above were all taken with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. So this is no real food photography, but merely a documentation of what we ate. To make the family and friends back home even more envious.

Love Greek food! Also a big fan of the Greek Cypriotic food that crosses over into Lebanese cuisine with their tabbouleh and more middle eastern flavours. This made me hungry! Even though I made tzatziki and a greek salad for dinner yesterday.
Lots and lots of “Wow that looks good” as we perused the images. Have to ask, do you consume the whole octopus or just the tentacles? (What a fun post!)

Ugh, I am glad to look at those deliciousnesses ( I know it’s not perfect english, but my word creation) after dinner. Ich liebe die griechische Kueche vor allem wenn man in kleinen Tavernas in die Kueche gehen kann, in die Toepfe rein schaun darf und sich aussuchen was man essen will, at least that’s how it was 35 years ago, the last time I have been on Greece. Sorry for themix of english and german language. Though what I am missing here, Marcus , what did you drink with those meals? Retsina? Kali nichta from here.
