We have made it to the festive season . It is supposed to be the “silent season,” a time of quiet reflection and anticipation preceding Christmas. But we all know that Advent is rather the most busiest time of the year. For sure also for The Significant Other and myself. But to get in the mood, at least photographically, I grabbed the Leica and headed into town for some monochrome street photography on Nuremberg’s famous Christkindlesmarket on the historic main square in the Old Town. Click below to see the the rest of the day’s images…

Street photography for me is all about capturing gesture, the faces and stories of the streets. Getting five “keepers” out of an hour of shooting (well, interrupted by drinking mulled wine and eating Bratwurst, a must during festive season) is not a bad result.
Images captured with the Leica SL2-S and the Leica Vario Elmarit F/2.8 24-70 ASPH. Postprocessing with Adobe Lightroom Classic.

Good to have you back in the blogosphere, Marcus. I’ve missed your images.
Thanks, Allan, your kind words mean so much! Marcus
Great images. Christmas markets are always fab places. Whenever I go though, there’s always too many people around to get decent shots.
Thanks, Jill, much appreciated! Yeah, it really takes time and patience to find those special shots among all those people. It works only when I’m focussing on photography. “Drive-by” shots when being on the market with the family and only snap-shooting on the side don’t work. Especially, after stopping a second or two for the image, I tend do not find my people any more 😉
Fabulous shots. Makes me wish I had taken a Christmas Markets tour!!! Love your pictures!!
Your street photography is very good, Marcus, they tell a story with people’s faces and other things. Great job!
Thanks so much for your kind words, John 🙂
