What is the best way for the street photographer when the summer in the city gets too intense? Right, then it is the time for some high contrast monochrome photography. The monumental circular bronze fountain in Genoa’s Piazza de Ferrari, built in 1936 by the architect Cesare Crosa di Vergagni and donated by the Piaggio family, provides the perfect background. To see more images taken on this beautiful Piazza in the heart of Genoa, continue after the jump…

All images taken with my Nikon Zf and the Nikkor 24-200/4-6.3, using the monochrome shooting program. Jpgs out of camera.
Have a great Thursday

Love a bit of high contrast mono….
Great shots, as per usual, Marcus
Beautiful work Marcus 👍🏻 For the past few years I haven’t bothered to shoot RAW with my Fuji’s. I find the jpegs accurate and flexible enough so I don’t have to spend hours post processing RAW files.
Thanks, Joe 🙂 !! With my Nikon Zf, I totally love the dark monochromes the b&w mode produces. Jpgs straight out of camera save a lot of work!! I do keep the raws though, just in case, but mostly don’t touch them, especially when shooting monochrome.
Just wonderful
Thanks, Gerda, as always much appreciated! Marcus
