Spending the long Halloween weekend in our second home town Genoa down in Italy, The Significant Other and I celebrated the Halloween evening in style, participating in a Halloween Ghost Tour through the medieval town center. Tagging along was my Leica SL2-S and the TTArtisan 50mm .95 prime “Nifty Fifty” M-Mount lens.

The tour started at 7:30pm at the steps of Palazzo Ducale in Genoa’s Centro Storico, one of the oldest and most densely populated medieval city centres in Europe. The Halloween Ghost Tour consisted of 12 animation stages, visited by 14 free guided tours starting simultaneously from different places in the Old Town. The routes were the same for everyone and the event lasted about 2 hours.

The individual events included small plays, dance performances, fire theater and presentations of small ghost stories. The whole event took place in front of the historical backdrop in the medieval old town.

We definitely benefited from the beautiful warm weather of this late October evening at the Ligurian coast.

It was really a fascinating evening in the small alleys and courtyards of the medieval old town. We enjoyed the vibes of the mostly dressed up crowd and the magnificent performances of the artists.
Once more I was very happy with the low light performance of the Leica SL2-S and the “China-Noctilux”, the TT Artisan f/0.95 50mm. I hope the photographs in this post give you impressions of this wonderful Halloween Ghost Tour through Genoa’s historic center.

Being German, living in the USA for over 30 years, it’s interesting to see how Halloween has become a tradition in Germany as well, as I can gather from your great captures.
That f 0.95 is definitely being exercised well.
What a wonderful evening’s activities! Your photos really give us a true flavor of the evening.
Thanks for sharing.
Looks like an interesting event
Love these! And I appreciate the camera settings provided for each one.
Stunning shots Marcus.
The shot taken at 1/6 sec is perfect for showing dancers and their moves.
Love, love, love the image with the capes being flung out like gossamer wings. Nice post!
Nice impressions, thanks for sharing.
Fine set!
very interesting captures
I love these photographs!
Your photos are wonderful, Marcus, looks like great fun!
I like that this event gave dancers and performers another chance to practice their art – they had a tough time the last two years. Black and white works well for it!
