We are living in a crazy world. There are plenty of things around us that cause anxiety. But at least we all should do the things we can do to make things better, safeguard democracy and keep the planet afloat for our children and future generations. Like casting our votes in general elections. It won’t help to stick our heads into the sand. Germany is voting today. Let’s keep the faith that everyone has realized what’s on the plate.
This is the first street photo I have taken with my new Nikon ZF and the Nikkor Z 40mm 1:2 SE on a walk through Genoa’s historic center yesterday. It is a jpg straight out of camera, only some cropping in Lightroom Classic. Images specs 1/1250 sec @ f/4 and ISO 6400, 40mm focal length. I love my new camera more every day!

An excellent photo! And a very symbolic juxtaposition.

Thanks, Kaya, as always I cherish your kind words!
After hearing about your experience with your Leica and the lack of support you got from their customer services I’m glad to hear your enjoyment with your new Nikon, and the fun you are having with it. I admit to a part of me really wanting to check it out!!!
Thank so much for your kind words, highly appreciated! Was out with the Zf again today, and enjoyed every shot! So happy I changed!
That’s a great photo, Marcus! Love it! I hope the voting goes smoothly for your country, Marcus. 👍🏻😎
Thanks, John, appeciate your kind words so much. What makes me happy is that 84% of eligible voters cast their votes. That’s an incredible number and a clear sign that people still care. All will be well 🙂
That’s great, Marcus! I wish our numbers were that high. You’re welcome, yay for the dependable Nikon!
no need for anxiety and fear. Just a pick! 🙂 Have a nice Sunday!
Thanks, Gerda, you too 🙂
Good Luck for you all, for your country. You explained well, I do agree with you. Our voting (should be) not clear yet… I do pray for a better views, days,… Thank you, Love, nia
Thanks, Nia, so much appreciated! 84% voted, that’s an incredible number. Not all is lost….have a great week!
We are experiencing a challenging period, and we hope this transition will be brief. What do you think about this Nikkor Z 40mm 1:2 ?
Thanks, Laurent, so much appreciated! The 40mm was the kit lens that came with the Zf. I went for it because I read good things about it. I have say, it exceeds my expectations. The lens, while optically not as clean as the S lenses, has character. It is perfect for my street photography. What really blows me away is the focal length. In the past, I carried to primes, 35mm and 50mm. I never had the right lens on the camera. For many shots, 35mm was too wide, 50mm to narrow. After four weeks of using the 40mm I have to say I found my “always on” lens. I think I can do everything with this lens. It is liberating to take only one lens into town with confidence that I wouldn’t miss anything. I found my new favorite focal length. 40mm is perfect for me. And so is the Nikkor 40mm F/2 SE. It is a perfect package with the Zf.
